Jim Flynn, M.D.

Biography:
Dr. Jim Flynn is a 2003 graduate of the University of Notre Dame who jumped at the opportunity to return to South Bend upon the completion of his medical education in 2014. Following his undergraduate years, he worked as a full-time volunteer at the Sr Maura Brannick Health Center. It was this commitment that not only solidified his interest in medicine, but also allowed him to make a strong connection with the South Bend community.
Dr. Flynn is a 2008 graduate of Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School. He was a chief resident in orthopaedic surgery at Penn State and then completed a foot and ankle fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, learning to manage complexities of the lower extremity under the guidance of Dr. Steve Conti. He continues his medical education regularly, through research articles and courses on the latest techniques. His current scholastic interests include total ankle replacement and minimally invasive techniques in foot and ankle surgery.
Outside of work, Dr. Flynn devotes his time to his family. He and his wife, Courtney, have two daughters and two sons, who fill each day with love and laughter. He enjoys coaching youth soccer and riding bikes with his children. The Flynn’s are also avid Notre Dame fans. You can regularly spot Dr. Flynn with his kids decked out in ND gear and cheering on the Irish.
